The Beacon
A downloadable playbook
Centuries of advancement upon advancement of AIs, apps, and proxies have lead to the birth of the proxiosphere, an electromagnetic storm within the Earth's atmosphere that contains the collective unconscious of artificial life. This roiling storm of dust and echoes gives rise to ephemeral beings of great power, metaphysical thought and will written in 1s and 0s—the Sentinels. They have existed in obscurity, invisible to the world below… until your order discovered them.
You are the Beacon. Through your guile and expertise, you bind the Sentinels into your vehicle to utilize their tremendous power.
But why do you call them? Is it because you must?
…
Is it because you can?
A SHINING CALL TO STRANGE FORCES
The Beacon is a pilot playbook for Beam Saber that summons powerful artificial beings known as the Sentinels to augment your vehicle in fantastic and awe-inspiring ways. A loving homage to the classic Final Fantasy Summoner job, the Beacon allows you and your friends to explore the stranger possibilities of the Beam Saber universe.
To summon a Sentinel, don your raiments, install the Sentinel Key, and begin the ritual: a tug-of-war clock which can lead to either a successful summon—or unleash an unbound Sentinel on the battlefield.
The Beacon includes 11 new playbook abilities, 6 specialist gear, and the Sentinel Registry: a database of nearly a dozen Sentinels with which you can ally, parley, and summon.
